‘Our Community Now’ Marks Old Town Lafayette as a New Foodie Destination

Colorado lifestyle and entertainment magazine, OCN Eats, explores our growing restaurant scene.

Whether you’re a Lafayette local or out-of-town traveler, our unique downtown district boasts an impressive list of dining options to explore. Recently, three Old Town establishments were profiled as part of Restaurants Near Me, a YouTube show powered by local lifestyle and entertainment newsource, Our Community Now

Let’s start the tour with Old Town Lafayette’s newest spot serving Detroit-style ‘za – Ghost Box Pizza. Named after its operation as a ghost kitchen amid the pandemic, Ghost Box’s humble roots begin with the need to serve high-volume, to-go meals that could carry out well. The wood-fired pizza plan was a hit and despite restrictions lifting, the demand for high-quality pizza served in a casual setting remained.

Watch Chef Matt Ochs and VP of Marketing, Courtney O’Rouke, join the host of the show, Larry Herz, as they walk through the restaurant’s unexpected beginnings and sample the crispy, doughy, and unbelievably delicious bites at Ghost Box Pizza. Now serving more than Detroit-style slices, come by 103 S Public Road to sample an array of wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, appetizers, sandwiches, and of course, signature cocktails.

Next up on our food tour is an international delight named 2021’s Best of Boulder East County, Tandoori Kitchen. What started as a collaboration between Colorado’s greatest Indian chefs and local restaurateurs has turned into a Lafayette standby. Serving classic Indian & Himalayan cuisine in unpretentious digs, Larry Herz made a special point to call out Tandoori’s customer service on Instagram.

@eattandoori in Lafayette is one of those restaurants that multiple followers told me I need to check out. So when I decided to film Lafayette for #restaurantsnearme last week I knew that I had to include this Indian/Nepalese restaurant and boy am I glad I did. The service was next level friendly and the food was exceptional.” -@ocneats, Instagram

Wrapping up our food tour trio is none other than 2022 James Beard Award semifinalist and Lafayette’s only Cajun-Asian restaurant, Casian Seafood. Since opening in December of 2020, this family-owned and operated establishment has made a splash with their unlikely fusion of flavors and unbeatable hospitality.
