The Lafayette Music Fest is back and ready to take over our community once again. Lafayette’s long history with music and the arts was meant to be shared, so you don’t want to miss out.
For decades, the City of Lafayette has been a haven for musicians of all styles and backgrounds, from Latin and jazz to hard rock and soul. The diversity and uniqueness of our community allow for arts of all kinds, from all backgrounds of life, to blossom. The Lafayette Music Fest offers the chance to see some of Colorado’s best acts share our community’s collective stages for one special day. Old Town Lafayette welcomes you to be part of the magic that is our music scene.
The Lafayette community had an overwhelmingly positive response to last year’s first-ever music fest. David Heinrich, Founder of Tier Two Live, and Kenny Vasko, Founder of Dog House Music Studios, started the festival because they wanted to show the greater Colorado area that Lafayette is a central hub for music.
“There are already so many businesses and venues that celebrate and host musical events, such as Nissi’s, The Arts Hub, and Muse, so we could use these spaces that already existed to put on the festival,” said David.
This ticketed event is taking place from Saturday, October 7, at noon until midnight. One wristband will get you access to all twenty-four talented and diverse artists, such as Snakes & Stars, Hazel Miller, and Gasoline Lollipops, and the six different performance stages around Lafayette:
-Tier Two Live/ Confluence Garage
-The District
There will be two free stages at The District, including the portable stage from Center For Musical Arts, where they will have community-oriented musical acts performing. This stage will run from noon until 5 and will have beverages provided by Arts! Lafayette and a number of food trucks.
“Some of the artists performing this year have been here for years. Some even grew up here and went to music schools here as kids,” said Kenny. “This is our chance to bring them all together and showcase their talent.”
The framework and layout of the venues look a little different this year, and the range of talent being brought in has exceeded all expectations from the music fest team. They made ticket prices lower to make the fest more accessible to all, which truly showcases how community-focused everyone on their team is.
“I want to get it out to the community to ‘just come, you are going to be blown away by the level of talent coming to play here no matter what style of music you gravitate towards,'” said David.
We know you are probably curious about parking and transportation. You can park at one of the many Old Town Lafayette public parking lots, neighborhood streets, or any of the surrounding Lafayette parking areas near the venues. The Lafayette Music Fest has coordinated a shuttle that will take you through Lafayette to the different venues. The farthest along S. Public Rd. it goes is Romeros K9 Club & Tap House, but it will allow easy access to many of the venues outside downtown Old Town Lafayette.
“We feel like we are creating a full ecosystem in Lafayette where you can learn how to play, rehearse, record, perform, rally your fans, and I do feel like we have the opportunity to really solidify that with this music fest as just a celebration of the hundreds of musicians that live in this town,” said Kenny. “This is a music town, and we are excited to show communities around us what we’ve got.”
