Here in Old Town Lafayette, our heart is in the community, people, and businesses that call us home. To help us continue to serve and support our local artists, artisans, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs, we work with a variety of partners and organizations throughout the region. Our joint mission is to continue economic growth and development through the city, as well as foster a place where creativity and diversity can continue to flourish. Below is an overview of our “Old Town Team.”
Organizations
City of Lafayette: Lafayette’s panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains inspires our view into the future. We value our heritage, our unique neighborhoods, a vibrant economy and active lifestyles. We envision a future that mixes small town livability with balanced growth and superior city services.
Lafayette Urban Renewal Authority: LURA is the public entity to effect revitalization and redevelopment in the downtown area. The authority works in partnership with property owners to improve existing structures, bring new commercial and mixed-use development to raw land within the blighted area, and prevent deterioration of properties within the area.
Lafayette Chamber: “We Help Businesses Thrive.” The Lafayette Chamber is an action-oriented membership organization that has served as the voice of the Lafayette business community since 1954. It proudly represents the business interests of Lafayette and the surrounding area by providing opportunities to Chamber members to market and promote their products and services to a wide array of customers and consumers.
Lafayette Old Town Association: LOTA, made up of residents, puts on the Old Town Lafayette Garden Tour every year. Proceeds from this event go to giving grants to local residents to fix up their homes.
