No experience needed—just curiosity and creativity! In this 4-session class for teens and adults, you’ll learn to sketch, paint, and bring botanical subjects to life. Explore composition, watercolor pencil techniques, shading, blending, and texture. Each session builds your skills, ending with a unique portfolio of vibrant, nature-inspired art. Whether realistic or stylized, your work will reflect your personal artistic voice.
What you’ll learn:
Class 1: Introduction to Botanical Composition
Begin by learning the basics of botanical composition and how to sketch simple plants, flowers, and stems. You’ll also explore the fundamentals of using watercolor pencils to draw and color your subjects.
Class 2: Watercolor Pencil Techniques
Dive deeper into the world of watercolor pencils. Learn how to apply layers of color and use water to create delicate gradients and soft transitions in your botanical artwork.
Class 3: Shading and Blending for Realism
Focus on bringing your botanical pieces to life through shading and blending techniques. You’ll practice adding depth, texture, and detail, refining your ability to capture realistic foliage and flower petals.
Class 4: Final Touches and Personal Style
In the final session, you’ll perfect your botanical compositions, learning advanced techniques for fine details, highlights, and texture. You’ll also be encouraged to experiment with stylized interpretations of your botanical subjects, developing your personal artistic approach.
