Join clinical herbalist & baking enthusiast, Rachel Bull for an interactive herbal focaccia workshop. During class you will discover new ways to incorporate herbs and infused oils into your baking. The flow of class will include sampling focaccia, preparing & straining an infused oil (to be eaten with the focaccia!), a walkthrough of a recipe, and an interactive portion where folks will get their own GF focaccia to decorate with herbs, flowers, and vegetables to take home & bake!

This hands-on class will give you the skills to create a variety of patterns, and introduce you to working with several types of natural materials. Each participant will go home with a completed berry basket, as well as the knowledge of how to gather and process your own basket making supplies for the future.

We’ll reinforce knees & elbows, add beauty to collars & hems, and enjoy the slow, meditative stitching of Sashiko. A Japanese textile tradition, Sashiko’s repetitive, simple stitching is both beautiful to wear & meditative to make. It provides strength, warmth, & decoration to worn & torn clothing. Bring something that’s in need of repair. Non-stretchy fabric is best-denim, cotton, or linen.

The 4th Annual Lafayette Fall Harvest Festival is a fun-filled fall event featuring a marketplace with vendors selling seasonal, farm fresh produce, as well as other farmers market type offerings such as handcrafted, artisan foods.

Think “farmers market’ meets festival with a harvest/Halloween theme!” There will be food vendors, high quality arts and crafts, kids art contest displayed by Lafayette Window Painting Contest, a costumed dog parade (all registration fees donated to RezDawg Rescue), kids stations with art/crafts/interactive booths, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, face painting, live music and free treat/market bags for customers.

Stop by the food court for breakfast or lunch. Stroll the event and visit the petting zoo. Pick up a pumpkin or two at the pumpkin patch and feel free to dress up in costume.

This Friday (Oct. 24) marks the spooky return of the Lafayette Creep Crawl with our friends Romero’s and Odd13.

Things kick off at Cellar West Brewery at 3pm with family-friendly Halloween shenanigans like pumpkin painting and Witch Hat ring toss (candy for winners!). Plus some spooky music & decor to get you in the mood.

At 6pm, Romero’s is “amping things up” with live music from Shelvis and the Roustabouts.

From 8pm – 10pm, Odd13 is hosting “Crypt Karaoke” (howl, hiss, or shriek your favorite songs) as well as tarot card readings.

And don’t miss the collaborative beer release: Vampire of Lafayatte (Blood Orange Ale).
