Lafayette Artists Series: The Exhibit

The Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department is hosting an invitational exhibit featuring artists who have been highlighted in the Lafayette Artists Video Series. The exhibit will hang at The Collective Community Arts Center from May 22 – July 21, 2024. We intend to display and showcase visual, musical, performance, and literary artists. Cultural Caravan at The Collective

Josh Halpern and Yannick Rafalimanana return to The Collective to share a preview of their May 12 MainStage concert. To complement the Collective’s Red Shadows exhibit, this program will center on works by underrepresented female composers. They will explore challenges systemic in the worlds of art and music, including erasure and inclusion. Don’t miss this stimulating performance and discussion! Register for this FREE event!

Art Night Out

The City of Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department, ARTS!Lafayette, and Firsthand Markets are pleased to announce the 2024 Art Night Out summer festival series. This always-free public event is held on the second Friday of the month, May through Sept. 2024, from 5-9 pm on Public Road between Emma and Cannon Streets in Lafayette, Colorado.

June 14 – Los Mocochetes
July 12 – Hazel Miller and The Collective
Aug. 9 – Kaitlyn Williams and Bunny Blake
Sept. 13 – Paa Kow

Festivities begin at 5pm, with two full city blocks, closed to traffic, with up to 50 art vendors and eight food trucks. Enjoy live performances by the Center for Musical Art and the ArtsHUB, plus a caricature artist, face painter, balloon artist, magician, and street performers. 6pm features pop up performances that celebrate Colorado’s cultural diversity. The monthly headliner starts at 6:30pm, with dancing in Festival Plaza until 9pm. There are always plenty of great free activities for families and friends to enjoy! Lafayette: Then and Now

Join Gerry Morrell – retired fire chief, local business owner, and long-time Lafayette resident – for a photographic exploration of how Lafayette has changed throughout history. Using historic photos of Old Town Lafayette paired with recent photos, Gerry will discuss how the main streets of the city have changed over time and the industries that shaped Lafayette.

LEAF: Lafayette Electronic Arts Festical

A dazzling electronic and new media arts display of creativity, community and music, the 2024 LEAF (Lafayette Electronic Arts Festival) will have a big presence in Old Town Lafayette starting April 17. “Fruiting Bodies” is the underlying force behind this year’s event, which revolves around the acknowledgement and cultivation of the many communities in the region involved in electronic and new media arts.
